Ingredients
- 6 cups cubed day-old cinnamon raisin bread
- 3 cups whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly coat the inside of the crockpot with cooking spray.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Combine Bread and Raisins: Add the cubed bread and raisins to the slow cooker, then pour the milk mixture over the bread, pressing down gently to ensure all bread is soaked.
- Add Butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the mixture.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, or until the pudding is set and the top is slightly golden.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Tips
- Use day-old bread for best texture; fresh bread may become too mushy.
- For added flavor, sprinkle some extra cinnamon on top before cooking.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for extra decadence.
