Crockpot Spiced Apple Butter

Ingredients
- 6 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare Apples: Place the chopped apples into the slow cooker.
- Add Spices: Sprinkle the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt over the apples.
- Initial Cooking: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very tender.
- Blend: Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Final Cooking: Stir in the vanilla extract, cover, and continue to cook on low for 1 hour.
- Cool and Store: Allow the apple butter to cool before transferring to airtight containers for storage.
